Professional Licensure Defense
Any disciplinary allegation against a professional license is a serious
matter. Physicians, dentists, nurses, psychologists, and other health
care providers have a vested interest in protecting that license.
During law school, Mr. Segeleon had the opportunity to serve as a legal
clerk at the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure. It was at that time
that his interest was piqued regarding the process, administration, and
discipline of professional licenses. During his tenure at the Board, Mr.
Segeleon had the opportunity to participate daily in the internal machinations
of the KBML. Because Mr. Segeleon is married to a physician, and has over
a decade of experience defending medical professionals we understand the
importance of protecting your license before your board and in a court
of law.
Our office defends physicians, nurses, dentists, and other health care
professionals who are accused of writing improper prescriptions, using
controlled substances, or diverting drugs from the workplace. Mr. Segeleon
has extensive experience defending professionals accused of the following,
but not limited to:
• ETHICAL VIOLATIONS
• STANDARD OF CARE VIOLATIONS
• SELF-PRESCRIBING
• CRIMINAL CONVICTIONS
• CREDENTIALING ISSUES
• NATIONAL PRACTICIONER DATA BANK
• SEXUAL ALLEGATIONS
• CHEMICAL DEPENDENCY ISSUES
• SCOPE OF PRACTICE
• RECORD-KEEPING
• CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE DIVERSION
• C.P.E.P
Mr. Segeleon also has extensive experience dealing with the Kentucky
Physicians Health Foundation (formerly the Impaired Physicans Program)
at the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure, as well as the K.A.R.E (Kentucky
Alternative Recovery Effort for nurses) at the Kentucky Board of Nursing,
both of which deal with chemical dependency issues. He therefore is in
a position to offer alternative methods to deal with CD issues.
Only someone who has the first-hand experience and ability should deal
with professional licensure issues. Someone like Mr. Segeleon who is familiar
and comfortable dealing with the Board Panels, investigators, attorneys,
Administrative Law Judges, and other personnel. Likewise it is important
to contact us as early as possible in the licensure disciplinary process
to have the greatest likelihood of success.
If you have been charged, or believe that you may be charged with a disciplinary
violation, please contact us and we will answer
any questions that you may have.
